Dallas County Low-Income Reliant Energy Customers Get a Break

by Michelle on June 16, 2011

While Reliant has already been providing customers with smart meters to help energy consumers monitor their electricity usage they are now going a step further and providing low-income customers with energy monitors as well.  The energy monitors will be provided at no cost to the customers and can help them determine their energy usage patterns more efficiently.  Both Dallas County and Houston Reliant Energy customers will have this option available to them and simply need to call in order to find out more and to get the process moving.  Dallas County energy consumers should also find out if Reliant is the only electricity company offering such a program because consumers can choose whichever energy company they want out of those that serve their area.  There are a number of ways to compare electricity suppliers but the easy and quickest way to make a comparison is by calling Texas Electricity Comparison at 1-800-971-4020 and speaking to a comparison expert.

  • Those low-income Reliant customers in both the Dallas/Fort Worth and the Houston areas are eligible for the home energy monitor at no cost.
  • More than 250,000 Reliant customers are currently utilizing smart technology through the use of at least one of the Reliant e-Sense™ products.
  • A total of 1,000 of these monitors will be made available to customers with a low-income in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston areas.
  • Other smart technology products are available for non-low income Reliant customers as well.

With the economy stalled the way it has been for the last few years it is getting more and more difficult for individuals to manage their finances and Reliant’s smart technology offers at least a partial solution.  Giving customers the option of monitoring their electricity usage means helping them better determine how much to put aside each month for their electricity bill.

Energy consumers who have their services provided by an electricity company that does not offer this technology should compare their company to Reliant by contacting Texas Electricity Comparison.

Letting Texas Electricity Comparison help you compare energy companies could mean finding a company that better suits you.
