TXU on the move | Free Electricity, $10,000 Giveaway and More

by admin on May 22, 2012

TXU is known as one of the “big dogs” in Texas when it comes to electricity service. It is also know for sponsoring many community events and helping find new ways for consumers to save money on electricity.

TXU Energy wants all Texas residents to save money, not just its customers. It has joined ‘Green Button’ to help analyze energy data. Developing resource/tools based on electricity usage is expected to lower electricity cost for consumers. Giving back to customers is TXU’s goal.

TXU is giving customers free electricity?

Customers will receive free electricity at night from 10pm-6am if they are using the ‘Energy Free Nights’ plan. The company has offered time-of-use pricing in the past but it was not free electricity.

Using the time-of-use plan helps stabilize the power grid. Just last year, Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) issued several warnings asking customers to use less electricity during peak demand times to prevent rolling blackouts. This was due to several power generation plants going down and the Texas heat.

The company gave $10,000 to Deborah Stewart for posting on TXU’s Facebook page. Stewart wants to build a new kitchen with her winnings. Deborah and her husband have been loyal TXU customers for years.

Since deregulation began in 2001 for Texas, TXU has been providing competitive prices. Small businesses have been known to benefit from TXU Energy’s easy to understand plans. To get the latest energy pricing from TXU visit its website.

Texas Electricity Comparison is proud to offer a comparison tool at the top of this page. Sadly Texas Electricity Comparison does not offer nor represent TXU Energy at this time. Viewers are welcome to compare our rates with other companies’ rates.
